A weekend of short plays and monologues on women+ and invisible disability.
Co-produced by Paula Kamen/aka Hysterical Productions, Violet Surprise Theatre and actor/accessibility activist Terri Lynne Hudson, I’m participating as the originator of the fest, a producer, and as a playwright.
At the ADA-compliant Piven Theatre in Evanston, August 28-30, 2026. Performances are August 28 at 7 pm, August 29 at 2 and 7 pm, and Sunday, August 30 at 7 pm.
Both in person and virtual, with even some performers streaming in.
Supported by generous grant from City of Evanston Arts Council
The philosophy: For centuries, a sure-fire way to diagnose a woman (or trans or non-binary person) is if they were dramatic and seeking attention about their otherwise invisible illness. In this short comedy festival, we are turning the tables, embracing the forbidden, “acting out.”
